Great App

Great visual food journal, I just wish it didn’t ask for you to upgrade to the paid version CONSTANTLY.

Please add a nutrtion feature!!!!!!!!!!!

I absoutley love this app as I’m able to visually see what I’m putting in my body. However I wish there was a calorie/nutrtion tracker option. I go to the gym quite a bit which means I need to be watching my cal and protein intake to make sure I’m getting the right nutrients. I understand that this app is supposed to take away calorie tracking, but being aware is not a bad thing!!! Plus it can just be optional. I have to use two apps to keep up with my health and goals and I just wish it was everything in one. I have bought premium for this app and I feel like there isn’t enough on it for what I payed. All I can do it take pictures of my food and track my water. Please add a nutrtion feature!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m in love.

This an absolutely fantastic app for tracking your daily intake, especially if you endeavor to moderate your weight. On a daily basis, I look at what I’ve eaten at meal to plan upcoming meals accordingly. Sometimes, plan my meals in advance and then attempt to stay on my plan for day. If you’ve ever taken a picture of a food item that you forgot to post, you can import the picture from your photo gallery. I have an iPhone so I don’t know if that feature would works for all brands. For me this is a great feature as I often forget to take a picture before I eat and have even taken a picture of an empty plate and then indicated what was on the plate. I’ve taken a picture of a salad and indicated what was in it as my salads are often a full meal. In addition, customer service reply is prompt and helpful. So, the app meets my needs.

Needs improvement

The reason I got this app is because it let me take pictures of my before and after of meals and share them in a pdf format. But the pdf format is awful. It doesn’t show the full picture of the meals, it just smushes them side by side, cropping the pictures so I barley see what I’ve eaten which is the whole point. Other small things is that you can’t pick how many times you want to eat a day, or let your day end at a certain time. For example if someone work overnight then their days would still follow the 24hr time schedule and your meals on the app would be off.

Great app and Customer support!

I’m a visual learner so being able to SEE what I’ve eaten in a day helps. I just use the free version and use the comment to type in my calories and protein. ALSO, crazy enough, this app has real life human support. 😂 I was having an issue uploading my photos, emailed the team at seehowyoueat.com and got a response in a few minutes from Mia. Super helpful. If you’re visual, you’ll like this!

Incredible app!

I LOVE this app. If you are looking for an easy-to-use and impactful way to track what you eat, look no further. I have recommended this app to all of my friends and family. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Free Version isn’t Worth it

You can only see around 7-8 days that you’ve logged, anything before that you’ll never see again. Super weird to not have access to your OWN pictures, you can’t remove or edit anything from previous days.

Awesome App!

I used a calorie counter to get to my goal weight but now that I’m at goal I wanted freedom from all that work not only did this provide me with the freedom but since I’m a visual learner I noticed it was making me “see”exactly all the healthier choices I’m now making! The only thing I’m hoping for now is a dark mode it seems to stay in light mode though I’ve got my system set to dark mode. Other than that it’s incredible!

Easy to use and motivating

Super easy and encouraging for healthy eating.

Let me give you money

I think this app is super cute and helpful, and I would even pay for some of the extra feature IF they were one-time payments. This could be implemented as scaling costs for different features/bundles- if you wanted to secure the market of people sick of paying for a million subscriptions. I understand that having a monthly/yearly payment may seem more lucrative in the long run but honestly it makes me rationalize how absolutely unnecessary continued payment for slightly convenient services would be. I hope you give my critique some consideration as I would earnestly pony up ONCE for access to some of this apps features.

You have to Pay

Like most apps today, you have to pay, which disappointed me when I saw it. It’s cheap yes but not everyone can afford to pay $30 yearly. It looks like it would be a great app for people having a hard time what to eat or how much they’ve eaten. It’s simple. It’s cheaper though to use your camera because that’s basically what it is. Recording times and pictures of what you’ve eaten and how much water you drank.

Can’t create an account

Keyboard won’t go away which is preventing me from creating an account

Excellent app!

I’m really impressed with this nutrition app! It’s a fantastic tool for anyone wanting to become more mindful of their eating habits. The app is easy to use, and I’ve found it simple to log my daily meals. Plus, it’s quite affordable and provides excellent tech support. I strongly recommend this app to anyone pursuing a wellness journey.

This APP is PERFECT !!

I have been searching for the perfect app (for me) and I finally found it ! Incredibly easy to use and it keeps me engaged. It’s so easy to just take a photo and start eating ! Thank you so much for creating this app and helping me on my journey towards great health.

Love it

Love the app

Great App

Absolutely Love the simplicity but how effective it is. Truly works. Exactly what I needed to control my overeating.

Free Version is Not Worth It

The free version of this app has too many limitations to be useful for serious tracking. You can only edit meals for the current day, meaning if you forget to log something from a previous day, you’re out of luck. Additionally, you can only view your 7-day history, which makes it hard to get a good picture of your eating habits over time. On top of that, the app is extremely spammy, constantly bombarding you with pop-ups to upgrade to the paid version, which gets frustrating fast. The only features I did like were the ability to add extra photos and the timestamping of entries, but honestly, those perks aren’t worth the hassle. I’m switching to a spreadsheet for more flexibility!

forcibly crops pictures so u can’t actually see how you eat

it is deeply infuriating that every time i try to add a picture with the full plate in view, the app randomly changes how zoomed in/centered it is. it makes it so i can not see the plate, completely defeating the point of the app.

Super Unethical

I tried to join as a free user to explore the features but the option to exit out of that offer didn’t work, so I joined under a free trial. I tried to skip past the 30-day course offer, but the opt out feature also didn’t work. When I clicked the exit button, a pop up window appeared that gave me no option to continue without accepting the Terms and opting into the course. These coercive features can’t possibly be lawful, but that’s for the app to evaluate.

really helpful & easy to use

i really like this app- it's free & easy to use. it basically lets you take 6 pictures a day of what you eat. this app could be great for those trying to lose weight or eat less- you only have 6 photos a day; 3 meals and 3 snacks, so using the photo taking system keeps you accountable and makes sure you don't overeat. on the other hand, it's also helpful for someone trying to gain weight or someone who often forgets to eat- the app can be a great way of committing to and staying on top of eating regularly everyday. and as someone who's struggled with food and eating much of my life, this app makes me feel like im in better control of what i eat. when i was overweight & trying to eat less this app was helpful- and now i am at a normal weight and trying to eat enough to meet my caloric needs with how much exercise i do, and this app is still helpful. i really just reccomend this app for everyone who has issues with food and eating, whatever they may be. plus it's fun to see a little picture summary of all the good eats you had over the day, lol.

Obsessed!

This app is life changing! I am such a visual learner and I have no clue why I never thought to apply that to my food tracking. It’s helped me tremendously and after months of tracking the old way I made the switch and the scale is finally going the right direction!

Hate it

Was recommended but really it’s just taking pictures of your meals. There’s no support

Reflection/Not Deprivation

I’ve used so many apps, tried so many diets. But what I truly want is a peaceful relationship with food - a relationship that revolves around intuitive eating and wise choices. This app fits the bill perfectly for me. I see at a glance what my intake has been. Plus knowing I’m going capture everything I eat, reconsider eating when I’m not hungry. I’m looking forward to some lifestyle changes and know this app will help me get there.

Makes understanding Libre 3 CGM possible

I use your app in concert with my Libra 3 CGM to track my eating habits. My doctor loves it! I’ve been in range for weeks. And I’m starting to lose weight. Your app is a wonderful tool for diabetics. It’s a game-changer for me.

Extremely helpful but infuriating

The amount of ads on this makes it really frustrating to use. The subscription price it asks me to pay every time I open up the app is outrageous as well. Make this a one time payment under $10.99 and I’d be sold. But getting constantly berated by subscription pop ups is infuriating and this isn’t it.

great app

i love how this app doesn't save the pictures to my camera roll bc i know I'd just have a million food picures I'd never delete. i just wish there was a way to easily use pictures from previous days bc a lot of times i eat the same thing over and over

Almost

I just wanted a place to see what I ate ina day, but I want to be able to add a discriptipn it’s kinda annoying I can’t for free

Food records in a snap!

The SHYE app is quick, convenient and simple. I take photos of my food all day, then at the end of the day I combine the images into one page with this app, to share with my health coach. 👍🏼❤️

Good concept and start, needs polishing

I used an app a few years back called YouFood (originally Two Grand) as a photo food journal, but unfortunately no longer supports iPhone. So I gave this a whirl, and it uses the same concept of quickly logging your meals via photos. It functions at a basic level. Unfortunately the design and implementation is not well executed. If I want to reassign my Mid-morning Snack photo to Lunch, the only way is to delete it and take a new one. If I don’t eat an afternoon snack, the app will insist I “missed” a meal. (My workaround was to log a text meal of “N/A.”) I can’t swipe between meal photos. The English is poorly written. It asks you to join a two-week challenge to start, and every single meal asks “are you enjoying the app” and asks you to swipe through multiple pop-up responses. Six times a day. Overall this app accomplishes its goal, but needs some work to make it a quality product.

User

I struggle with eating sometimes and i got this app to kind of motivate me to get up and make food and it would send me reminders and i found this really help full. I only downloaded the app for showing what i eat but there’s a lot of other features but a lot of the stuff you have to pay for even if you wanna log how much water you drank or adding a description to your meal but if you just wanna use it for free you’ll only be able to take pictures; I’m fine with this.

I really like this app!

This app has been helping me with my relationship with food. It’s a lot less toxic then some of the calorie counting ones and I think helps me with my goals way more than stricter ones? It helps a lot with mindfulness too!

More than CICO…

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now to track my meals (not calories) in regards to GERD and IBS. I recently had a few questions regarding the access of my history, as I had let my subscription lapse when things were going well. Mia was not only fast on the reply, but super helpful in resolving my questions too. It’s been SO helpful to go back and match my symptoms to what I was eating in the days surrounding them. Definitely a multi-functional app. I actually avoid counting calories, and this app does an excellent job of staying neutral in its functionality that way. Really appreciated!

Nice, fairly easy app, but a little tough to navigate backward and forward in time navigation.

Better for me than weighing food

The main issue with calorie counting was the time it took to do it. With this, I simply see what I’m eating and it keeps me on track. No more measuring or messing with scales.

Forced to sign up for another option within the app

I really wanted to try this app for a week before paying for a subscription but it would not let me continue without signing up for another thing that required me to add an email and “coach.” It looked optional at first but when I tried to exit out, it would not let me move on…

Has potential

Loved the visual diary & “tips” section as a bit of daily inspiration, but it maxed out at 4 weeks despite it having a dedicated button in the dock? I didn’t realize I had been using the paid version, and when it expired the app is pretty lame. I thought I was on the free version and I still thought the UI was poor (the best part is the photo grid). I hate only having 91 days of history. I don’t understand the available plans in apples settings view, there’s like 3 different monthly and yearly options from “diary” to “journaling” and they’re too vague to know what I’d actually pay for. The free version is also INCREDIBLY annoying about buying the paid version, which is a turn off in itself. I’d give the paid version 3.5 stars for being my favorite style of food diary with crummy execution. The extras are confusing to me if they’re paid or not, the UI just generally looks like a scam website or fishing email. It needs regular spacing and more of the nice photography it used very sparsely.

Not free

Only 7 days free

Plan ahead messes up widget

The widget is supposed to show what I most recently ate and the next snack/meal. But if I plan ahead and take pictures of what I’m going to eat later in the day it’ll show dinner (even if it’s current 9:30am and I changed the time on the dinner photo to 6pm) and a blank tile for late night snack. Makes the widget useless.

Paid only

Why make me download the app just to find out it’s paid only???!! So annoying.. I’m not paying for a photo library I could probably code myself

Doesn’t sync between iphone and iPad

So I love everything else about the app but I really wish that what I enter on my iPad would show in my phone and vice versa. That’s my only gripe. So I have to take pictures on my phone and then later on transfer them to the iPad.

Very effective, simple app that I love using

I love using the SHYE app. I wanted to track my diet to understand it better over time, and start to see patterns to improve my choices. The action of a simple photo with ability to write some free form text about what is in it just works for me. I enjoy doing this, and it makes me think about my choices without being burdensome. I’ve also found the pdf export functionality is useful. On a few occasions I’ve provided it to nutrition, healthcare, and / or fitness professionals, and it has enabled very useful conversations.

Great app

Love the app and interface, wish premium wasn’t required to use to full capacity.

Great app; great support

I started using this app, as a request from my food nutritionist. Having the ability to snapshot the foods that I eat is much more impactful than simply writing them down. I recently switched phone and had issues in the transfer. I contacted the app support, and worked with Mia. Mia was very helpful throughout the process and made the transfer successful and seamless. A big thank you, and a five star rating.

Great

It’s a great app to remind of what your eating every day and how you can improve

Great App

Such a great and awesome app! I love it!

Great App

This app has been very effective for me. I never realized how much crap I was putting into my body until I started seeing it. This app helped me change my diet, hit my goals and live a healthier lifestyle.

Amazing!!!

I’ve had this app for a couple months now and I originally downloaded it just so I can get a visual of what I’m actually putting in my body. I’ve learned so much about myself just by tracking because I think we have a natural bias towards ourselves to “think” we’re eating healthy but taking photos and having the literal image of what I ate has helped me open my eyes to the reality of 1) What I actually am eating 2) What times I’m eating and 3) As someone who deals with IBD, this is really helpful to see what foods make me feel good and what foods don’t. It’s also helpful to track what foods can cause certain reactions like acne or affect my hormones and energy levels. Overall, really love this app! It’s so helpful and I also really love the layout of it. It’s so simplistic and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Also, their customer service is so quick to respond and fix any issues you may have. Big SHYE fan <3
